Hidramar Group enters into a contract for a 22,000 Mton floating dock at HRDD

On November 14th, Huarun Dadong Dockyard Co., Ltd. (HRDD) signed and activated the contract for the VB0029A “22,000 Mton Lifting Floating Dry Dock” , which built for the Hidramar Group of Spain.

The Spanish 22,000 Mton floating dock is 240 meters long and 48 meters wide, and isclassed by LR. The contract period is 15 months and construction will start in January 2025. The signing of the contract of this floating dry dock has started the cooperation journey between HRDD and the Spanish company. the construction of 22,000 Mton floating dock project has strengthened the solid foundation for more win-win cooperation between the two parties in the future.

Mr. Luis Calvo, Consul General of Spain in Shanghai, said: “The implementation of this floating dock project is a substantive manifestation of the further strengthening of the strategic partnership between the two countries after the important visit of Spanish Prime Minister Sanchez to China in September. In 2025, we will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of this strategic partnership framework. The strategic characteristics of this project are its forward-looking, its ambition and its broadening, which will further enhance the capabilities of both sides in the economic exchange vision.”

Tenerife Shipyards belongs to the Hidramar Group, a Spanish family-owned group of shipyards located in the Canary Islands. The Hidramar Group operates two shipyards, including Tenerife Shipyards, which specializes in offshore fabrication and technical maritime services.

According to the introduction, HRDD has formed a complete set of mature management, technology, process system and rich construction experience in shipbuilding, such as floating dock, etc. Five years ago, HRDD has built a high-quality 22,000 Mton floating dock for CDC Shipyard in Cuba. At present, the floating dock’s production and operation situation is good, and it has successfully completed many ship repair and conversion projects.
