On November 15, Chinese shipbuilder CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. successfully delivered the 32,000DWT heavy lift ship No. 4 “AAL ANTWERP” (H2472) for Schoeller Holdings Group, 166 days ahead of the contract period. This early delivery means that another 32,000DWT heavy lift ship will soon join the AAL Shipping fleet.
The 32,000 DWT heavy lift ship meet the HPSCR, EEDI Phase III and NOx Tier III standards, and have obtained the DNV methanol reserved classification notation. The newly equipped “AAL ECO-DECK” retractable deck extension system increases the loading area by about 85% compared with the existing similar ships in the fleet.
This means that the load can be optimized without increasing the gross tonnage of the ship, that is, when transporting the same tonnage of cargo, the energy consumption and emissions are much smaller than other ship types, which helps reduce the customer’s costs.
It is reported that Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding has a deep cooperative relationship with Schoeller Holdings Group. Since 2008, Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding has built a number of shis for Schoeller Holdings Group, including 1700TEU, 1900TEU, 2700TEU, 2800TEU container ships, 32,000DWT multi-purpose heavy-lift ships and offshore wind power operation and maintenance ships, totaling nearly 30 ships.
Schoeller Holdings is the parent company of AAL Shipping (AAL). AAL Shipping is an award-winning multipurpose carrier that has been serving the breakbulk and project heavy lift cargo sector since 19952. It is one of the world’s largest and most trusted global operators, known for transporting customer cargo with efficiency, frequency, and safety.
