CSSC Chengxi Shipyard Delivers a 62,000 DWT Heavy-Lift Multi-purpose Vessel to BOCOM Leasing

China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) Chengxi Shipyard Delivers 62,000 DWT Heavy-Lift Multi-purpose Vessel “Hong Fu” to BOCOM Leasing 166 Days Ahead of Schedule.

“Hong Fu” is the 19th vessel delivered by CSSC Chengxi Shipyard this year, marking the shipbuilder’s completion of the annual shipbuilding and delivery task one and a half months ahead of schedule.

“Hongfu” is the fifth of the 12 62,000 DWT heavy lift multi-purpose vessels built in batch for BOCOM Leasing, and it is also the largest heavy lift multi-purpose vessel in the world in terms of deadweight tonnage.

Classed by CCS, the vessel has an overall length of 199.90 meters, a beam of 32.26 meters and a design speed of 14.4 knots. The cargo hold of this vessel adopts large opening and container structure, the maximum length of the hold is about 40 meters, equipped with two 150-ton cranes and two 80-ton cranes, which can flexibly load various sizes of heavy equipment cargoes, pulp cargoes and all kinds of solid bulk cargoes, and can also load containers.

At the same time, the vessel meets the third phase of the Ship Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) standard and IMO T3 emission requirements, and meets the latest SOx emission requirements, providing customers with higher quality services with its advanced design and excellent cargo suitability.

It is understood that “Hongfu” takes into account both cargo hold loading and deck loading modes, and can realize the transportation of major goods such as bulk cargo, pulp, containers, wind power equipment, new energy vehicles, large modules, etc., achieving true multi-functionality and multi-purpose.
