On November 14, CHinese Shipbuilder Wanlong Ship Heavy Industry, Guangzhou diesel engine factory and Taizhou Haiwei Shipbuilding Electromechanical held a contract signing ceremony for 11 main engines of three types, including two 210,000 DWT Newcastlemaxes bulk carrier main engines, three 115,000 DWT Aframax tanker main engines and six 82,000 DWT energy-saving bulk carrier main engines.
It is understood that the number of orders this time has set a record for the number of ship main engines signed in batches since the tripartite cooperation, and all the signed main engines are equipped for the main ship types of Wanlong Ship Heavy Industry in the future.
The 210,000 DWT Newcastlemaxes bulk carrier has an overall length of 299.95 meters, a width of 50.00 meters, and a design speed of 14 knots. The vessel adopts advanced design concepts and optimizes the hull line design. It has excellent performance in core data such as cargo capacity, speed, and fuel consumption, and meets the IMO Tier III emission standards and the Ship Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) Phase III standards.
The 115,000 DWT Aframax tanker is the largest vessel built in Taizhou City. The vessel has a total length of 249.90 meters, a beam of 44.00 meters, a depth of 21.50 meters, a designed speed of 14 knots, and it can carry more than 800,000 barrels of refined oil or crude oil products.
The 82,000 DWT bulk carrier is a fourth-generation energy-saving bulk carrier with a total length of 229.00 meters, a beam of 32.26 meters and a designed draft of 12.20 meters with a service speed of 14.2 knots. It is equipped with SCR and a desulfurization tower. The design concept of this vessel reflects the dual requirements of energy conservation and emission reduction and efficient transportation.
