Recently, the first phase of the Hubei Xiangyang Intelligent Green Shipbuilding Industry Chain Project has been basically completed, marking that Xiangyang City once again has shipbuilding production capacity.
It is reported that the Xiangyang Intelligent Green Shipbuilding Industry Chain Project is located in Xiangyang Xiaohe Port, the largest port in the Han River Basin. It is invested and constructed by Hubei Changze Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., and technical support is provided by Wuhan Institute of Shipbuilding Technology and affiliated research center. It focuses on building a development and manufacturing base for new energy small and medium-sized ships and standardized ship types in the Han River Basin.
According to previous news, the project is planned to cover 350 mu of construction land with a total investment of RMB 1.3 billion.
The first phase of the project invests RMB 430 million, covers an area of about 120 mu, and constructs 15 permanently shipbuilding slipways, 10 maintenance slipways, with a building area of about 60,000 square meters. Among them, the construction area of 3 workshop buildings is about 14,400 square meters, one office building, two dormitory buildings and canteen are about 8,000 square meters. After put into production, it will build 100 modern intelligent green ships of various types annually and repair and inspect more than 360 ships.
The second phase will invest RMB 870 million yuan, covering an area of 250 mu, and the construction will include coating center, manufacturing center, slipway, R&D and testing center etc. At the same time, it will build its own ship fleet of 20 ships of more than 1,000 tons for water logistics and transportation. After the completion of the project, the base will become the only shipbuilding, testing, repair and maintenance base in Northwest Hubei.
At present, the steel processing workshop, pipe and outfitting workshop and spray painting workshop of the first phase of the project have been completed, the foundation of the slipway, gantry crane has been completed, and the No. 1 and No. 2 slipways have been fully constructed. Hubei Changze Shipbuilding Heavy Industry has obtained the ship repair and construction technical license for “Level 3 Class I General Steel Ship” and this base has been designated as a green and intelligent ship maintenance base by relevant departments of Hubei Province.
It is understood that there were originally a number of shipyards in Xiangyang City, subject to the shrinking of the shipping market and urban environmental transformation, shipyards located in the built-up areas of the city were demolished and relocated, and have not been restored and rebuilt due to a lack of capital investment.
The shipbuilding industry chain project was relocated from the former Yicheng Shipyard and located in the Xiangyang Xiaohe Port Industrial Park. It was restored and rebuilt in a green, intelligent and high-end manner.
According to reports, the project is planned and constructed in accordance with the standard of Level 2 Class 1 steel shipbuilding, and adopts new equipment and processes such aslaser CNC plasma cutting, steel antirust pre-treatment line, as well as robot welding, laser welding and segmented manufacturing.
After the completion of the project, the intelligent green ship industry chain project will become a modern, intelligent green shipbuilding equipment and supporting testing and repair base with advanced technology in the Han River Basin in the future, and carry out industrialization extension. Eventually, it will be an industry chain development project integrating ship R&D and manufacturing, ship inspection and repair, shipping service and shipping training.
