The largest horsepower pure electric tugboat in China’s inland waterways settled in Nanjing Port

On November 8, the Administrative Service Center of Nanjing Maritime Bureau issued a ship nationality certificate for China’s largest inland river pure electric tugboat “NING GANG DIAN TUO 1”, marking the official arrival of the first pure electric propulsion fully revolving tugboat in the Yangtze River Basin at Nanjing Port, filling the gap in the application of pure electric high-horsepower tugboats in Yangtze River port operations, search and rescue, and emergency response.

With a total length of 36.5 meters, a gross tonnage of 417, a width of 10 meters, a depth of 4.5 meters, and a propulsion power of 3000kW, the “NING GANG DIAN TUO 1” is equipped with completely independent intellectual property rights of li-battery system, DC power distribution system, permanent magnet motor, which can achieve zero emission, low noise and zero pollution.

Nanjing Harbor Tugboat Branch is an important social force for emergency rescue in Nanjing Port and even in the Jiangsu section of the Yangtze River. Nanjing Maritime Bureau, as the lead institution for water search and rescue in the Yangtze River waters in Nanjing, has always advocated the strengthening of water search and rescue capacity building, and encouraged and supported Nanjing Port Barge Branch to actively respond to the national green development strategy to build high-horsepower, purely electric tugboats.
