COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Guangdong) to restart shipbuilding

Recently, COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Guangdong) held a special meeting on the implementation phase of the shipbuilding restart plan, chaired by the company’s deputy general manager, Liu Xiangwen. During the meeting, various departments of the manufacturing system reported on the implementation of work hour management, planning management, process capability improvement, and digital and intelligent transformation and etc..

The meeting summarized the current difficulties, while implementing the above basic management tasks, discussed the key points for the next phase of work:

  • Vigorously promote small-batch, multi-batch production organization methods, and localize the supply chain for steel outfitting and electrical outfitting components.
  • Steadily advance the party-building work in MR tanker construction “chain” .
  • Strengthen precision management work.
  • Establish a pricing system for shipbuilding outsourcing.
  • Discuss and implement the second phase of the “Learning from Kawasaki, Learning from Yangzhou” work plan.
  • Fully promote intelligent manufacturing and digital transformation requirements.
