Changhong International breaks ground for NAVIOS’s two 115,000 DWT product crude oil tankers

On November 12, Zhoushan Changhong International Shipyard (Changhong International) held a steel cutting ceremony for the second and third 115,000 dwt product crude oil tankers (CHB3012 and CHB3013) built for the Greek shipowner NAVIOS MARITIME PARTNERS L. P.

It is understood that this series of vessels is a new generation of LR2/Aframax tankers developed based on the latest regulatory standards. They have an overall length of approximately 249.9 meters, a beam of 44 meters, and a depth of 21.5 meters, and are classed by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). In addition to conventional fuel oil, the vessels can also use clean energy methanol and LNG as fuel in the future.

At the same time, the reservation of medium-voltage shore power provides favorable conditions for shipowners to access the medium-voltage shore power system in the future, which can effectively reduce the carbon, sulfur and other atmospheric pollution generated by the use of auxiliary generators while the vessel is at port; in addition, the vessel also uses an advanced single-cabin single-pump hydraulically driven deep well pump (Framo), which increases the diversity of cargo and has more operational value.
