Recently, the LNG-BOG onboard reliquefaction system (ORS) independently developed by Qingdao SunRui Marine Environment Engineering Co., Ltd. (SunRui) has obtained the LR and CCS Approval in Principle (AIP) certificates. Among them, LR’s certification is the first ORS AIP certificate issued by the classification society in China.
The global decarbonization action has accelerated the application of LNG and further promoted the development of LNG shipping trade. During the storage and transportation of LNG, boil-off gas (BOG) will be generated due to heat leakage, threatening shipping safety. At present, the most environmentally friendly and economical solution is to condense and recycle BOG through a reliquefaction system.
SunRui, closely following market demand, has developed a marine LNG-BOG re-liquefaction system based on nitrogen-helium expansion refrigeration technology. This system offers safe and stable operation, high energy efficiency, and easy maintenance, meeting the BOG liquefaction needs of various types of LNG carriers and large to medium-sized LNG bunkering vessels.
During the certification period, experts from LR and CCS conducted a comprehensive review of the process flow, security and monitoring plans of the reliquefaction system, and ultimately confirmed that the ORS developed by SunRui fully complies with the requirements of classification society regulations.
The successful development of the marine LNG-BOG reliquefaction system has further enriched SunRui’s product system in the field of gas treatment. In response to customer needs, SunRui can provide comprehensive solutions covering marine BOG reliquefaction systems, ship exhaust gas treatment systems and marine clean energy supply systems.
