ORCA UBOAT Receives CCS Type Approval for “awareness and autonomous navigation system for unmanned vessel”

On November 5, Shaanxi ORCA Electronic Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. (ORCA UBOAT) Electronic Intelligent Technology), a civilian unmanned ship company, obtained the Type Approval certificate for “awareness and autonomous navigation system for unmanned vessel” issued by China Classification Society (CCS). This is also the first time that CCS has issued this certificate to an unmanned ship (boat) company.

This type approval certificate proves that ORCA UBOAT’s intelligent ship system can operate unmanned in all water scenarios such as shipping, water leisure, and water surface operations. It symbolizes that ORCA UBOAT’s unmanned boat autonomous navigation system has reached the domestic leading level, and it also marks a solid and critical step in the technological breakthrough and industrial development in the field of smart ship industry chain.

The autonomous navigation system of the unmanned ship has four advantages: high integration, high reliability, high versatility and high cost performance. At the application level, the core hardware and software have been practically applied in nearly 1,000 unmanned boats in more than 100 waters around the world, with a cumulative unmanned operation mileage of 714,680 kilometers, which can circle the earth 18 times.

It is understood that ORCA UBOAT’s APAS system, through the combination of its self-developed surface autopilot controller, scene perception sensor integrated display and interactive system to perceive recognition, autonomous positioning, planning decision-making and autonomous control algorithms, can realize a series of advanced assisted driving functions and fully autonomous navigation functions for ships, such as advanced perception, autonomous navigation, autonomous obstacle avoidance and autonomous berthing.

Equipped with this APAS system, ships can achieve safer, more efficient, and easier navigation and operations in different scenarios and complex water environments, thereby providing intelligent solutions for shipping, cultural tourism, yachts, surface operations and other application fields to help achieve high-level transformation and development in the industry.
