Huanghai Shipbuilding inks for ten 10000-ton class new energy bulk carriers with Jada New Energy Shipbuilding (Shenzhen)

On November 6th, Huanghai Shipbuilding signed a contract of 10 10000-ton class new energy bulk carriers with Jada New Energy Shipbuilding (Shenzhen).

This bulk carrier measures 109.80m in overall length, 26.80m in beam, 7.20m in depth, 4.20m in design draught, 4.80m in structural draught, with a deadweight tonnage of about 9,050, and a sailing speed of 11.5 knots.

As a new energy bulk carrier with electric/oil hybrid drive, the vessel is equipped with 2 medium-speed main engines, 2 shaft generators (with PTO and PTH functions), 2 hybrid gearboxes, 8 containerized lithium batteries, and 2 diesel generator sets.

It has an endurance of 4,000 nautical miles in fuel-only conditions and approximately 180 nautical miles in electric-only conditions.

It is understood that Jada New Energy Shipbuilding (Shenzhen) Co,Ltd. was founded on October 28, 2024. The company’s business scope includes technical services, technology development, technology consulting, technology exchange, technology transfer, technology promotion; energy storage technology services; energy conservation management services; new materials technology promotion services; ship leasing; domestic cargo transportation agency; general cargo warehousing services (excluding hazardous chemicals and other projects that require licensing approval) and etc.
