GTT receives order for FSRU cargo tank design

On 6 November, GTT announces that it has received an order from a Korean shipyard for the tank design of a new Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU1) on behalf of an Asian ship-owner.

GTT will design the tanks of this FSRU, with a total capacity of 204,000m³. The tanks will be fitted with the NO96 GW containment system developed by GTT.

As previously reported, the order was placed by Japan’s MOL to South Korea’s Hanwha Ocean early last month and is valued at around $410 million. The delivery of the vessels is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2027.

The FSRU, which is 298.8 meters long, has a storage capacity of 200,000 cubic meters and a regasification capacity of 5 million tons/year, will be berthed at Singapore’s Jurong Port, making it the first FSRU deployed in Singapore.
