SMDERI’s first overseas marine SCR passes FAT

Recently, the first ship set of Shanghai Marine Diesel Engine Research institute (SMDERI) under China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) exported overseas marine exhaust denitrification equipment – selective catalytic reduction (SCR) successfully passed the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT).

The SCR system will be applied to a 16,500 TEU container ship built by Samsung Heavy Industries in South Korea and will be adapted to the 7H32DF-LM and 9H32DF-LM methanol dual-fuel generator sets installed on the ship.

In methanol mode or diesel mode, the NOx emission targets can meet the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Tier III emission standards.

This project is SMDERI’s first marine SCR project in cooperation with an overseas shipyard. At the acceptance site, Samsung Heavy Industries spoke highly of the product quality and performance as well as SMDERI’s technical capabilities.
