On November 2, the first 66,000DWT bulk carrier “JAL KUMUD” built by Yangzi Mitsui Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of Yangzijiang Group, for a Singaporean shipowner was delivered and put into operation.
“JAL KUMUD” is the first wide-body, shallow-draft, new generation ultra-flexible bulk carrier built by Yangzi Mitsui based on the MES-S design upgrade and compliant with Tier III and EEDI Phase III standards.
The vessel started construction in early January 2024, was launched in mid-August, and successfully completed the sea trial in late September, with all the test results conforming to the design standards.
In the afternoon of October 30th, a grand naming and delivery ceremony was held for the vessel by Yangzi Mitsui Shipbuilding.
