China set up a joint innovation center for new quality and productivity of naval equipment

On October 25, Liaoning South Shipyard (PLA Fourth eight hundred ten factory), China Aluminum Science and Technology Research Institute and Materials Application Research Institute of Aluminum Corporation of China jointly established the “Joint Innovation Center for New Quality Productivity of Naval Equipment” (Joint Innovation Center). This cooperation marks that the three parties’ research and development in the field of ship equipment materials will enter a new stage.

It is understood that Liaoning South Shipyard, as one of the important shipbuilding enterprises in China, has strong production and manufacturing strength and technological innovation capabilities, which has made outstanding contributions to the national economic construction and the modernization of national defense, coastal defense and military forces for a long time.

China Aluminum Science and Technology Research Institute and Materials Application Research Institute are both the four major professional research institutes of Aluminum Corporation of China, committed to building a leader in the research and development and application research of non-ferrous metal materials in China and a national strategic scientific and technological force.

The three parties have joined hands to establish a joint innovation center with the aim of deepening cooperation, integrating the advantageous innovation resources of all parties, strengthening in-depth cooperation in key areas of ship equipment and new materials, cultivating new quality productivity in the marine field, jointly serving the country’s major strategic needs, and enhancing the core competitiveness of China’s ship equipment.

At the founding conference, experts from three parties gave reports on the theme of development of high-end non-ferrous metal materials for marine engineering ship equipment. Participants had a lively discussion on the application of metal alloys or powder materials such as aluminum, copper, and zinc on ships.

In the future, the Joint Innovation Center will promote the development of ship equipment towards lightweight, intelligent and green through the research and development and application of advanced materials, promote the innovative research and development and industrial application of non-ferrous metal materials for ship equipment, and better guarantee the needs of major national defense equipment.
