CHIMBUSCO provides LNG fueling for a LNG dual-fuel car carrier docked at Zeebrugge port in Belgium

Recently, China marine bunker supplier China Marine Bunker(PetroChina)Co.Ltd. (CHIMBUSCO) provided LNG fuel supply to the LNG dual-fuel car carrier “Peony Leader” docked at the Port of Zeebrugge in Belgium.

This is the first time that CHIMBUSCO has completed LNG fueling in Europe, officially extending its green energy services overseas. The vessel refueled this time was the latest generation of large green car carrier of COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers. The vessel powered by LNG dual-fuel and has a total of 12 vehicle decks. And it started its maiden voyage to Europe after being delivered and loaded at a domestic shipyard in early September.

In recent years, CHIMBUSCO has been paying close attention to the development of the new marine fuel market on the basis of doing a good job in traditional marine fuel supply business. In March 2022, CHIMBUSCO successfully completed the fuel supply for the maiden voyage of the newly built world’s first LNG dual-fuel very large crude oil carrier “Yuan Rui Yang”. On November 10, 2023, the company successfully completed the LNG fueling operation of the vessel “Hangli 868”.

It is understood that with the global emphasis on environmental protection, many countries and regions have begun to limit the emissions of sulfur oxides (SOx), nitrogen oxides (NOx) and particulate matter (PM). Marine LNG, as a clean alternative fuel, can greatly reduce the emission of these pollutants, and thus has gained widespread attention and application. In addition, the application of marine LNG can also help reduce carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions, so as to mitigate global climate change.
