Recently, Vietnam’s Asia Pacific Shipping (APS) returned to Chinese shipbuilder Wuhu Shipyard to order two additional 25,900 dwt stainless steel chemical tankers, bringing the total number of orders to four chemical tankers, which are scheduled to be delivered from 2027.
In July this year, APS signed contracts with Wuhu Shipyard and Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group (“WS”) for two 25,900 DWT stainless steel chemical tankers. According to TradeWinds, the shipowner has exercised the option for two 25,900 DWT stainless steel chemical tankers in Wuhu Shipyard, and all four new buildings are now in effect. It is said, the price of each vessel is close to US$50 million, and the total value of the four buildings from Wuhu Shipyard is about US$200 million.
This type of stainless steel chemical tanker has a total length of 157.99 meters, a width of 27 meters, a depth of 14.2 meters, a designed draft of 9.5 meters, a structural draft of 10.4 meters with a service speed of 14 knots. Meets Tier III and EEDI III specifications, it is of green, environmentally friendly and energy-saving, which is a double-bottom, double-hull chemical tanker.
It is reported that Asia Pacific Shipping is a private Vietnamese shipping company and the first private enterprise in Vietnam to order new vessels in China. Its main business is the transportation of dry bulk, chemicals and liquefied gas. It is committed to ordering clean alternative energy vessels and promoting the development of green and environmentally friendly vessels.
