On October 25, Adora Cruises, the full-capacity operating company of CSSC Cruise Technology Development, officially released the name of its second domestic large cruise ship – “Adora Flora City”.
According to Adora Cruises, the inspiration for the ship’s name comes from the home port city of Guangzhou. Guangzhou, known as the “Flower City”, is not only the birthplace of China’s ancient Maritime Silk Road, but also the southern gate of China’s foreign exchanges and openness, where diversified cultures have collided and fused throughout the ages. From the comprehensive layout to the product design, “Adora Flora City” will bring Chinese and foreign passengers a more technological, more life, more Chinese cultural exploration journey.
According to China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), “Adora Flora City” has entered the accelerated period of final assembly in the dock, and is expected to be delivered at the end of 2026, relying on the home port of Guangzhou to operate international routes on a regular basis.
Compared with the first domestic large cruise ship Adora Magic City, Adora Flora City is larger in gross tonnage (141,900 gross tons), longer in length (341 meters), with 2,130 staterooms, and a full load capacity of 5,232 passengers.
The layout of the second domestic large cruise ship has been upgraded and optimized, not only adding a variety of suite room types, but also doubling the size of the atrium, expanding the public area for passengers to leave more space for sea activities.
In addition, Adora Flora City will usher in a comprehensive upgrade of the check-in, settlement and communication systems, enhancing the degree of scientific and technological intelligence of the ship’s independent integrated information management system, bringing passengers a faster, more convenient, and more concise handling experience.
At present, the two large cruise ships operated under AIDA Cruises – “AIDA Magic City” and “AIDA Mediterranean” – have served more than 380,000 domestic and international guests. In the future, AIDA Cruises, as the largest cruise ship operator in Asia, will continue to expand its fleet size, optimize its team layout, and improve the passenger experience, so as to contribute to the high-quality development of cruise ships with abundant vitality.
