Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding laid keel for two 174,000 cbm LNG carriers

On October 23, Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSSC) laid keel for the 174,000 cbm LNG carrier H1800A built for the QatarEnergy LNG project and the 174,000 cbm LNG carrier H1883A built for the CNOOC LNG project at the No. 2 dock in the western plant, which further accelerates Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding’s strategy of doubling LNG production capacity.

It is reported that these two LNG carriers in this batch are the fifth generation “Changheng” series independently developed by Hudong Zhonghua, which integrates the latest design concept, the best technical equipment, the strongest environmental protection performance and the most forward-looking ship type.

It features good fast performance and low comprehensive energy consumption; Good low temperature performance, wide compatibility of cabin type; strong cargo carrying capacity; Control operation and maintenance, route matching etc.

It is worth mentioning that Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding has delivered six large LNG carriers this year, creating the fastest record of delivering three LNG carriers in a single month.
