MSC receives a 16,000TEU LNG dual-fuel container ship from angzijiang Shipbuilding

On October 23, Yangzi Xinfu Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group, delivered the first LNG dual-fuel 16,000TEU container ship “MSC SIENA” to the shipowner Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC).

“MSC SIENA” is another large container ship built by Yangzijiang Shipbuilding after the LNG dual-fuel 7000TEU container ship, which is equipped with 9Ni steel type B LNG fuel tanks with a fuel tank capacity of over 13,000 cubic meters.

There are 12 ships in this series, with a total length of about 366 meters, a width of 51 meters, a depth of 30.2 meters, a designed draft of 14.5 meters, and a structural draft of 17 meters.

This type of container ship is equipped with energy-saving devices such as shaft generators, air lubrication, rudder bulbs and twisted wings. The dual-fuel main engine is optimized by ECOEGR, which can further effectively reduce fuel consumption while meeting the Tier III emission standards.
