Beihai Shipbuliding delivers a 210,000 DWT ammonia-ready bulk carrier to CMB

On October 21, Qingdao Beihai Shipbuliding under China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) delivered the 210,000 DWT ammonia-ready bulk carrier “MINERAL HELLAS” built for the Belgian company CMB. This is the ninth ship in the series of 210,000 DWT bulk carriers built for CMB.

It is reported that “MINERAL HELLAS” was delivered 40 days ahead of schedule. During the sea trial, its speed, fuel consumption, operability and other indicators all exceeded the contract requirements, and its performance reached the international advanced level. The EEDI index was 33.8% lower than the baseline value, meeting the Phase III emission requirements and was highly recognized by the shipowner.

“MINERAL HELLAS” is classed by ABS and designed by China Ship Design & Research Center (CSDC). The bulk carrier has a total length of 299.95 meters, a beam of 50 meters, a depth of 25.2 meters and a deadweight of 210,799 tons with a service speed of 14.69 knots.

According to statistics, as of October 2024, Beihai Shipbuilding has delivered a total of 16 new ships in 2024.
