Imabari Shipbuilding delivered a 180,000 DWT bulk carrier

Recently, Imabari Shipbuilding delivered the 181,000 DWT Bulk Carriers “CAPE GANNET” built in Saijo Shipyard.

“CAPE GANNET” is a Capesize bulk carrier with a length of 291.96 meters, a width of 45 meters, a depth of 24.7 meters and a deadweight of 182,027 tons. Equipped with a 7S60ME-C10.6 main engine, it has a speed of about 13.65 knots, is classed by Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (ClassNK), and flies the Liberian flag.

The vessel has 9 cargo holds and it meets NOx emission standards. The vessel is equipped with several environmental protection devices such as ballast water treatment system, exhaust gas recirculation system (EGR), selective catalytic reduction system (SCR) and exhaust gas purification system (EGCS).

In addition, it has energy-saving devices installed near the propeller with coating that reduces seawater friction has been sprayed on the outside of the hull to improve propulsion performance and environmental protection performance.

Imabari Shipbuilding said that the vessel not only meets the second phase requirements of the current carbon dioxide emission control indicators, but also meets the third phase requirements required for vessels built after 2025 in advance. In addition, it also provides a list of materials that comply with the Ship Recycling Convention.
