Weihua Group’s offshore equipment base put into operation

On October 11, Jiangsu Weihua Ocean Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. (Weihua Ocean) held a ceremony for the full commissioning and completion of the wharf. The project is the first 10-billion project located in the Donggang Basin of Lusigang, Qidong, Nantong city.

The Phase I project Weihua Ocean was first put into production in September last year, and the products under construction include the first set of 3,000-ton gantry cranes in China and the first set of 3,600-ton gantry cranes in the world. After all the projects are completed, the annual output value can reach RMB 20 billion ($2.82 billion), can add more than 2,000 new jobs and the total profit and tax exceeds RMB 2 billion.

Weihua Ocean is a key construction project in Jiangsu Province, and its parent company is the backbone enterprise of China’s crane industry – Henan Weihua Heavy Machinery Co., LTD. (Weihua Group). Weihua Ocean products cover 9 product series such as port machinery, offshore equipment and new green energy equipment, serving Russia, Australia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Kenya and other countries and regions.

As the first offshore equipment base invested by Weihua Group, Weihua Ocean plans a total investment of RMB 10 billion, with a total construction area of 250,000 square meters, and an annual output of more than 600 sets (sets) of port machinery and offshore high-end equipments.

Products cover 9 series including port machinery, shipbuilding portal cranes, offshore equipment, hydrogen storage equipment and ect. Its wharf shoreline is nearly 1000m, and three 50,000-ton berths will be built, which can simultaneously meet the needs of two 50,000-ton deck barges and one 50,000-ton bulk carrier.

Among them, the No. 1 berth has the longest 135-meter ro-ro channel in the industry, which can meet the requirements of various large equipments to ro-ro loading onboard, which is second to none at home and abroad, with an annual throughput of 1.58 million tons.

It is understood that early next year, China Industrial International Myanmar Dilowa, Kenya Port Authority, Mittal Steel and other projects will also sail from the wharf of Weihua Ocean.
