Recently, Changjiang Ship Design Institute, a large ship design company in China, has successfully undertaken the design project of three types of four new energy cruise ships for Changsha Urban Development Group in Hubei Province, china.
It is understood that the project includes a 500-passenger catamaran cruise ship, two 380-passenger catamarans cruise ship and a 380-passenger monohull cruise ship.And all ships will be powered by oil-electric hybrid power.
The four cruise ships will be used for day trips to the scenic spots in Changsha and city-themed night trips to provide tourists with comprehensive services such as sightseeing, conference reception and business banquets.
Changjiang Ship Design Institute was originally founded in 1951, relocated to Wuhan in 1965 and was attached to SINOTRANS&CSC SBICO since 2012. As one of the largest research institutes of ship design in China, CSDI in a national professional research institute in fields of design of ship and harbor machinery and consultation for water conservation engineering projects. With a number of well-educated professional technical talents, it specializes in designing all varieties of cargo vessels for inland waters and open seas, ocean vessels, civil river vessels, naval ships and harbor machinery, and in supervising water conservation engineering projects.
Over half a century, CSDI has not only developed and designed nearly one thousand ocean and civil river vessel types, and five thousand vessels have been put into operation. The vessel type covers passenger vessel, dry bulk carrier, luxury excursion vessel, push-pull tug, fireboat, high performance craft vessel, container vessel, Ro-Ro vessel, engineering vessel and tanker (include LPG transport vessel, asphalt vessel, chemicals vessel).
In addition, it engages in research and development of general marine-use machinery, environmental protection engineering projects, application technology of computer and research.
