On October 10th, Yangzhou COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry under COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry signed and delivered the 82,500 DWT bulk carrier “Pedhoulas Fighter” to the owner Safe Bulkers by remote video.
Pedhoulas Fighter is the last vessel of the 82,500 DWT bulk carrier project, marks the successful conclusion of the cooperation between the two companies. It is worth mentioning that the first built vessel of this series delivered previously has performed well in actual operation.
The project consists of two 82,500DWT bulk carriers for which a construction contract was signed in May 2022 between the two parties.
This 82,500 DWT bulk carrier is a new generation of Kamsarmax bulk carrier independently developed and designed by COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry in response to the market demand, and it owns completely independent intellectual property rights.
The structure of this bulk carrier meets the requirements of HCSR code, reaches Phase 3 of Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI), and meets the latest maritime code and various environmental protection requirements.
