On October 10, a opening ceremony of CSSC Jiangnan Shipyard Middle East Representative Office was held in Abu Dhabi, the capital of U.A.E., marking that the cooperation between CSSC and Jiangnan Shipyard and Middle East countries has entered a new stage.
It is worth noting that after the opening ceremony, Jiangnan Shipyard renewed the contract for two 93,000 cbm ultra-large liquid ammonia carriers (VLAC) with AW Shipping, a joint venture between Abu Dhabi National Oil Company Logistics and Services (ADNOC L&S) and Wanhua Chemical Group.
The 93,000m3 VLAC is a derivative of the fourth-generation VLGC (Panda 93A) independently researched and designed by Jiangnan Shipbuilding, which is the world’s largest liquid ammonia carrier at present, and is not only the first choice for long-distance transportation of green ammonia, but also can be fully loaded with liquefied petroleum gases, such as propane, butane and other liquefied petroleum gases.
The VLAC has an overall length of 230.0 meters, a beam of 36.6 meters and a depth of 22.5 meters. It adopts a new generation of low resistance line shape developed completely independently, which enables it to have excellent and balanced performance under full load, ballast and different specific gravity liquid cargo loading conditions. And it is equipped with LPG dual-fuel main engine and shaft generator to meet the current carbon emission requirements.
The signing of this contract is a further deepening of the friendship and cooperative relations between Jiangnan Shipyard, ADNOC L&S and Wanhua Chemical, and a concrete embodiment of the joint practice of carbon reduction and emission reduction and the construction of a green earth by all parties signatories, which will inject new impetus into the future low-carbon cause.
According to reports, the cooperation between Jiangnan Shipyard and Wanhua Chemical began in 2020. Especially in 2023, the two sides will take the scale of cooperation on large gas ships one step further.
With excellent manufacturing capacity and high-quality service, Jiangnan Shipbuilding delivered 18 new gas ships jointly established by Wanhua Chemical and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, AW Shiping, which is an important milestone for both parties and helps ADNOC, Wanhua Chemical and Jiangnan Shipbuilding to cooperate more deeply on other gas ships in the future.
