TMS’s two 159,000 DWT crude oil tankers were launched in China

Recently, two 159,000 DWT crude oil tankers built by Chinese shipbuilder New Times Shipbuilding for Greece shipowner TMS were launched one after another in its 3# Dock area.

It is understood that these two 159,000 DWT crude oil tankers are the third and fourth units of the same type among the four crude oil tankers of the same type ordered by the shipowner in New Times Shipbuilding.

The crude oil tanker has a total length of 274 meters, a beam of 50 meters, a depth of 23.2 meters, a design draft of 16.1 meters and a structural draft of 16.8 meters with a cabin capacity of about 180,000 cubic meters.

It is equipped with a MAN B&W 6G70ME-C10.5 TIER3 with HPSCR main engine with a main engine power (SMCR) of 13,500KW and a continuous cruising power (NCR) of 11,475KW. Also it is equipped with a 1200KW shaft generator, which meets the requirements of Tier 3 nitrogen oxide emissions.

Under the design draft, the power of the main engine NCR, equipped with PSV and HVAF, and 15% sea state reserve, its speed is about 13.9 knots, and the main engine is based on the full fuel tank, and the endurance is about 23,500 nautical miles when only one shaft generator is running.
