Jiangnan Shipbuilding launches two ships

On October 8, Jiangnan Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), launched two ships in its No. 3 dock.

It is reported that the two ships launched is a 175,000 cbm MARK III FLEX membrane LNG carrier “LNG JUMBO” series and a 14,000 TEU LNG dual-fuel container ship series built for Singapore Pacific International Lines (PIL).

The MARK III. FLEX membrane 175,000 cubic meter LNG carrier built by Jiangnan Shipbuilding was independently developed and designed by the company. Based on the latest and most advanced operation concept of large LNG carriers, the vessel meets the latest rules and regulations and the industry standards of the head oil and gas companies, and its comprehensive performance indexes have reached the international advanced level.

The LNG carrier is equipped with dual-fuel main engine and partial re-liquefaction system with the latest WinGD technology, which further improves the comprehensive economic performance of the vessel and makes the operation and management more flexible.

The 14,000 TEU LNG dual-fuel container ship series built by Jiangnan Shipbuilding for PIL is a large-scale container ship of KUN-14N series independently developed and designed by the company. It is a new type of high-efficiency, green, energy-saving and environment-friendly ship independently developed and designed by Jiangnan Institute of Technology (JIT). It took only 42 days for the vessel to be launched from half ship floating.

On the same day, Jiangnan Shipbuilding also floated two half-ships simultaneously in its No. 3 dock. The two half-ships floated are the bow and stern of the fourth ship in the series of 14,000 TEU LNG Dual Fuel container ships built for PIL Singapore.
