“K” LINE took delivery of a 7,000 CEU LNG dual-fuel PCTC from Imabari Shipbuilding

Recently, Japan’s Imabari Shipbuilding delivered the POSEIDON HIGHWAY, 7,000 CEU LNG dual-fuel PCTC (pure car and track carrier) built in Marugame Headquarters to Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd.(“K” LINE).

POSEIDON HIGHWAY is 199.93 meters long, 38.0 meters wide and 22.85 meters deep with a deadweight of 18,645 tons.

Compared to conventional fuel-fueled vessels, CO2 emissions, which are greenhouse gases, were reduced by 25-30%, SOx emissions, which cause air pollution, were reduced by almost 100%, and NOx emissions by 80-90% by using the EGR (exhaust gas recycling system).

BOG (Boil Off Gas) is always generated from the LNG fuel tank, and the vessel can use the generated BOG with generators and boilers, making it more environmentally friendly.

By adopting a bulkheadless structure and arranging a wider slope in a linear manner, the vehicle’s travel route can be easily understood, improving safety and cargo handling efficiency.
