New Dayang Shipbuilding Delivers 19 Vessels in the First Three Quarters

In the first three quarters of this year, New Dayang Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of Sumec marine, has delivered a total of 19 vessels, an increase of 26.7% in the number of vessels delivered year-on-year.

Since the beginning of this year, New Dayang Shipbuilding has ensured the efficient operation of all production processes. New Dayang has made reasonable arrangements for the preliminary drawings, material supply plan, supporting outfitting parts and pipes.

The advancement of the lean production improvement program has also promoted the improvement of production efficiency while further improving management capability.

New Dayang expanded the utilization rate of high-efficiency welding equipment and successfully overcame the difficulty of FCB splicing plate welding to shorten the construction cycle. Meanwhile, it proposes innovative process optimization solutions to shorten the dock and pier cycle period again.

New Dayang Shipbuilding adopts efficient coating process to realize faster production. During the production process, all departments of New Dayang Shipbuilding continued to strengthen communication and exchange, and various problems encountered in drawings, materials, sites, equipment and facilities were solved one by one.

Sumec marine has made great progress in the research and development of new ship types and expansion of high value-added ship types market while deeply cultivating the traditional bulk carrier market. Sumec marine delivered China’s first methanol dual-fuel small container vessel in March this year, with a handheld orders for four vessels of this type, and the third vessel of the same type is about to be delivered.

In the first three quarters of this year, New Dayang Shipbuilding’s production efficiency has been greatly improved. On this basis, the main product 3.0 version of Crown 63 bulk carrier actual delivery period than the contract delivery period are significantly advanced, the first three quarters of the delivery of a total of 17 units of this series of vessels, the average delivery period 50 days ahead of schedule.
