CSE Delivers Large Bore Dual Fuel Low Speed Engine

On September 30, CSSC Engine Co.,Ltd. (CSE) successfully delivered the 9X92DF-2.0+iCER, a large-bore LNG dual-fuel marine low-speed engine, which has a bore of 920mm, a stroke of 3468mm and a maximum power of 65,117 horsepower.

With a height of 16.11 meters and a weight of 1,630 tons, it applies the Intelligent Control by Exhaust Recycling (iCER) technology, and will be installed on a 16,000 TEU container ship to be built by GSCI for MSC.

The successful delivery of the main engine marks that CSE has the manufacturing and testing capability of large bore LNG dual-fuel marine low-speed engine, and also marks that CSE has achieved a new major breakthrough in the field of green ship engine construction.

Since 2022, CSE has accelerated the industrial development layout of large bore dual-fuel marine low-speed engines. In the first three quarters of this year, the company’s LNG dual-fuel marine low-speed engine delivery sets and horsepower increased by 30% and 37.2% year-on-year, respectively.

CSE implemented lean management in the whole process of production planning, design, quality control and construction of this main engine, and carried out “lean manufacturing + digitalization” mode in all aspects, which finally ensured that the main engine was delivered successfully in a short period and with high quality, and gained the appreciation of the customer.

In addition, CSE will synchronize the construction of large bore dual-fuel marine low-speed engine test capacity, and is expected to have the test capacity of large bore ammonia-fueled main engine by 2025. Moreover, CSE has an annual production capacity of 30 sets of 1.5 million hp large-bore dual-fuel marine low-speed engines to meet the different needs of the global shipping market.
