EPS brings four 113,600 dwt LNG dual-fuel Aframax product tankers into force

Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd.(XSI) under Fujian Shipbuilding Industry Group Co. announced that four 113,600 DWT LNG dual-fuel Aframax product tankers from Singapore’s East Pacific Shipping (EPS) have come into effect, bringing the total number of dual-fuel Aframax tankers taken by the shipbuilder to eight.

It is a double bottom, double hull, single engine, single propeller, dual fuel propelled Aframax product tanker designed by Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute (SDARI).

With an overall length of about 249.9 meters and a beam of 44 meters, the Aframax product tanker has a deadweight of about 113,600 tons and meets the NOx TIER III emission standard. It will be mainly used for loading crude oil and refined oil products, featuring energy-saving and environmental protection, strong adaptability etc.

At the end of July, it was reported that EPS has placed an order for four 113,600 dwt LNG dual-fuel product tankers with XSI, and the new shipbuildings are expected to be delivered in 2028.

Together with the latest 4 Aframax product tankers, EPS has recently placed orders for 3 types and 20 new vessels with Fujian Shipbuilding, including 4+4 5500 CEU LNG dual-fuel powered car carriers with Mawei Shipbuilding/XSI, which are expected to be delivered in 2027 and will be built by XSI; and 4+2+2 MR product tankers with Mawei Shipbuilding/Southeast Shipbuilding. So far, EPS has ordered 12 vessels from XSI.

In addition to the four 113,600 DWT tankers ordered by EPS, XSI has also secured an order for four vessels of the same type from Union Maritime Limited (UML) of the U.K. On May 21st, Mawei Shipbuilding, together with XSI, and UML, held a signing ceremony of the contract for the construction of 2+2 113,600 DWT dual-fuel oil tankers. According to the latest news, 2 options have also come into effect.
