Recently, Zhoushan Changhong International Shipyard Co. LTD (Changhong International) successfully launched the second 50,000 DWT MR chemical tanker built for Pro Tanker.
The 50,000 DWT MR chemical tanker is one of the ship types that Changhong International has been focusing on promoting in recent years, with a total of five chemical tanker in this series. During the design and construction process, Changhong International utilized a number of advanced technologies to enhance efficiency and environmental performance. With the signing of more 50,000 DWT MR chemical tankers, it brings new opportunities for the company’s business expansion.
The MR chemical tanker has an overall length of about 182.95 meters, a beam of 32.2 meters and a depth of 19.10 meters. Equipped with advanced energy-saving devices and adopting seawater cooling pump and fan frequency conversion technology makes it more efficient in operation.
The main engine and generator adopt SCR technology, which reduces fuel consumption and meets the latest environmental protection norms, and complies with EEDI phase III standards. In addition, the configuration of the new bilge water washing system facilitates the ship owner to dispose of bilge water in restricted areas.
Upon delivery, the Classification Society will issue the GR (ML, A) and EGCS-R (A, S) class notations, laying a solid foundation for future desulphurization modifications and the use of the more environmental friendly fuel methanol.
