Hengli Heavy Industries delivered its first built engine

On September 26, Hengli Heavy Industries successfully delivered the first built engine produced independently, marking that Hengli Heavy Industries has has fully possessed marine engine manufacturing capacity.

The 6G50ME-C9.6-HPSCR (HE0001) engine, 11 meters tall and weighing 250 tons, is the first advanced product in the industry to meet the latest environmental standards and meet the IMO Tier III emission standards. Compared with the traditional engines, its stroke is longer, the propulsion efficiency is higher, and the environmental protection is more energy saving, which is perfectly in line with the green and low-carbon development trend of the shipping industry. This first engine will be installed on an 82,000 DWT bulk carrier built by Hengli Heavy Industries.

The engine is regarded as one of the most complex industrial products in the world, and the successful delivery of the first engine not only demonstrates Hengli’s high-level construction capabilities, but also once again demonstrates Hengli’s pursuit of speed and quality.

In July last year, Hengli Engine signed a patent license agreement with Germany MAN, and officially started the engine manufacturing business; At the end of the same year, Hengli Engine obtained the quality management system certification of China Classification Society (CCS) and officially entered the Marine engine construction market; At present, Hengli Engine has received orders for more than 140 engines. In March this year, during the construction of the first engine began, Hengli Engine’s self-produced crankshaft became MAN’s inspection-free product with excellent quality and strict precision control.

After the completion of the first and second phases of next year, Hengli Heavy Industries is expected to process 2.3 million tons of steel annually, produce 180 engines, and achieve full coverage of LNG, LPG, methanol, ammonia four dual-fuel engines.
