McAsphalt takes deliverey of a 12,000 DWT bitumen tanker

Wuhu Shipyard delivered the first 12,000 DWT bitumen tanker “McAsphalt Advantage” built for Canadian shipowner McAsphalt.

McAsphalt Advantage was about a week ago delivered and she is now sailing to her Canadien home waters.

With an overall length of 140 meters, a beam of 23.75 meters, this 12 000 m3 bitumen tanker was built for McAsphalt Marine Transportation Ltd. and will make a great contribution to bitumen transports in the Great Lakes.

This FKAB designed Bitumen & Oil Product tanker, with independent cargo tanks for bitumen and asphalt, is made to meet McAsphalts Bitumen’s high quality requirements and harsch envoirment in Great lakes in Canada with a focus on low environmental impact, long-term operation, high flexibility, and very low fuel consumption, using the FKAB’s proven modern lines with F-Bow.

The propulsion system consists of twin skeg with 2 x four stroke DF main engine with CP-propeller using LNG/LBG as main fuels. It is designed with full battery / UPS power, preventing from black outs.
