On September 24th, Fujian Southeast Shipyard Co., Ltd (Southeast Shipyard), a subsidiary of Fujian Shipbuilding Industry Group Corporation (Fujian Shipbuilding), signed an order for a 2,940KW pure battery-powered tugboat with Fujian Fugang Tugboat Co.
The tugboat has an overall length of 37.6m, a beam of 10.5m, a depth of 4.75m, a design draft of 3.6m and a gross tonnage of about 500 tons. The tugboat is of steel all-welded with single bottom (partial double bottom), single deck, transverse skeleton. It is propelled by a lithium battery-powered, motor-driven, twin L-shaped shrouded propellers.
It can meet the requirements of sailing along the coast, coastal operation, and is used to assist container ships, bulk carriers, hazardous chemicals and other ships to berth or leave the berth and harbor operation in the harbor area.
