SITC Shipping (Hainan) proposes to sell a container vessel for $5.5 million

On September 24, SITC International Holdings Company Limited (SITC International) issued an announcement on “Disposal of Ship in Connected Transaction”.

The announcement disclosed that SITC Shipping (Hainan) Company Limited, an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of SITC International, entered into the Sale and Purchase Agreement with the Purchaser, SITC Shipping (Shandong) Company Limited. Under this agreement, the Seller agreed to sell the Vessel, a 907 TEU container vessel, to the Purchaser at a consideration of US$5.5 million.

According to the announcement, the vessel is called “SITC Haikou”, which was purchased by SITC International in 2007 and was originally named “STIC XIAMEN”.

In May 2021, “SITC Haikou” was officially transferred from Hong Kong to join the “Yangpu Port of China”. It is the first international vessel registered in Hainan Free Trade Port since the release of the Overall Plan for the Construction of Hainan Free Trade Port on June 1, 2020, and also the first vessel imported with “zero tariff” and engaged in international route transportation in Hainan Province.
