China’s first inland waterway methanol, diesel dual-fuel bulk-container carrier launched

September 22, China’s first inland waterway methanol, diesel dual-fuel bulk-container carrier launched, which was built by Zhijiang Jiangrui Shipping for MenSheng Shipping.

This methanol, diesel dual-fuel bulk-container carrier has an overall length of 130 meters with a displacement of 10,646.8 tons. Its cargo capacity is 8,980 tons, the maximum container capacity is 6,819 tons and the maximum number of TEUs is 440.

In March this year, Jiangrui Shipping won the bidding of eight methanol, diesel dual-fuel bulk-container carriers project of Minsheng Shipping Group with RMB 160 million, which is the first batch of methanol-fueled bulk-container carriers in China.

It is expected that in 2025, these eight methanol vessels will be completed and put into operation, which will fill the gap of China’s inland waterway methanol vessels.

MenSheng Shipping, the largest shipping company in container and Changjiang River commercial vehicle transportation in the upper reaches of the Changjiang River, has been committed to the construction, renovation and operation of new energy vessels.
