COSCO Shipping Lines christens last of six 14,100 TEU containerships

On September 20, COSCO SHIPPING CHILE, the sixth vessel of COSCO SHIPPING Lines under COSCO Shipping Holdings, was successfully named at COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry (Yangzhou).

COSCO SHIPPING CHILE has an overall length of 335.9 meters, a beam of 51 meters and accommodation for a total of 14,100 TEUs, including 2,100 refrigerated container plugs. It integrates the most cutting-edge technical concepts and sailing experience, and features the advantages of advanced design, low carbon and environmental protection, economy and energy saving, and its speed, fuel consumption and other performances have reached the world’s first-class level.

Moreover, COSCO SHIPPING CHILE is equipped with the world’s largest capacity class permanent magnet shaft generator system, 100% fresh air conditioning and enthalpy wheel energy recovery system. In addition, its main engine adopts direct atmospheric air intake, which helps reduce energy consumption with a number of advanced technologies can reduce carbon emissions by about 5.9%.

The first vessel, COSCO Shipping Brazil, was delivered in October last year, and its maiden voyage to Brazil was held in the port of Paranagua, Brazil, in March this year.
