Greek shipowner signs 10 MPSVs with PaxOcean

Recently, Singapore-based PaxOcean announced that it has signed a contract for the construction of 10 5,000 dwt multi-purpose service vessels (MPSVs) with an unnamed Greek shipowner. It is said to be the first offshore vessel order undertaken by PaxOcean in recent years.

The new vessels are being built by PaxOcean Engineering Zhoushan Co.Ltd (POEZ), a PaxOcean investment in China, and are expected to be delivered from the third quarter of 2026.

The value of the order has not been disclosed.

The MPSV will be designed by Norwegian ship design firm Salt Ship Design and will stand out for its modern design and excellent fuel efficiency.

The new MPSV, with a deadweight of 5,000 tons and equipped with the DP2 dynamic positioning system, will incorporate the latest advanced offshore vessel technology to ensure superior performance, safety and fuel efficiency.

It is understood that PaxOcean was established in 2007 and its business scope includes newbuilding, ship repair and conversion and retrofit, module manufacturing, green recycling, traditional and renewable energy and other integrated solutions. According to its official website, PaxOcean currently operates 5 shipyards located in Singapore (1), China (1) and Batam, Indonesia (3).

Clarkson data show that up to now,POEZ handheld orders for a total of 17 vessels, with delivery schedules up to 2028.
