Jiangnan Shipbuilding Completes sea trials of a 175,000 m3 LNG carrier

On September 4, a 175,000 m3 LNG carrier built by Jiangnan Shipbuilding returned successfully after completing the sea trials.

As the first Mark III Flex membrane large LNG carrier in China, it is independently developed and designed by Jiangnan Shipbuilding (“LNG JUMBO” series).

Classed by DNV, it is equipped with four Mark III Flex membrane liquid cargo tanks with a total capacity of 175,000 cubic meters.

This LNG carrier is based on the current international mainstream design concept of large LNG carriers, meets the latest specifications, rules and industry standards, and its comprehensive performance indexes have reached the international advanced level.

During the sea trial period, Jiangnan Shipbuilding carried out a number of tests, breaking through a number of firsts in Jiangnan, but also establishing the Jiangnan style of large LNG carrier construction.
