GRIMALDI’s second PCTC begins construction

On September 14, Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding (SWS), a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), held a steel cutting ceremony for the 9,000 CEU PCTC built for GRIMALDI.

This is the second 9,000 CEU PCTC built by SWS for Italian company GRIMALDI, which is classed by RINA.

The 9,000 CEU PCTC has an overall length of 199.90 meters, a beam of 38.0 meters and a design draft of 9.2 meters, with a design speed of 19.0 kn.

It is equipped with a MAN B&W 7S60MEC10.6-HPSCR mainframe and meets Tier II/III specifications.

This PCTC is the fifth PCTC built by SWS in 2024.
