China’s first 5,000-ton luffing pole DP crane vessel completes sea trials

On September 14, China’s first 5,000-ton luffing pole DP crane vessel invested by CCCC Third Harbor Engineering – “Sanhang Xiang ‘an”, completed the trials and berthed at the quay.

“Sanhang Xiang’an” integrates advanced technological achievements and intelligent means with the ability of DP power positioning operation, which can meet the needs of mooring and power positioning lifting operations in the deep sea, and has a broad market application prospects.

“Sanhang Xiang’an” has an overall length of 178 meters, a beam of 48 meters and a depth of 13.5 meters. Its transom is equipped with a 5,000-ton lifting capacity large-scale offshore crane with single jib with double hooks. The main hook has a lifting capacity of 5000 tons with a spread of 95 meters and a lifting height of 133 meters on the deck, while the secondary hook has a lifting capacity of 1200 tons, with a spread of 109 meters and a lifting height of 150 meters on the deck, which is equivalent to the height of a 51-storey building.

The excellent lifting capacity makes this crane vessel has the leading advantage in the same industry in the field of offshore wind power pile foundation construction, large-scale booster station lifting, large-scale offshore component installation and deep-sea wind power field construction.

“Sanhang Xiang’an” is equipped with 3 sets of 2,500kW full rotary electric main propeller on the stern and 2 sets of 3,000kW side propellers at the bow as well as 6 anchoring systems, which effectively improves the efficiency of the crane vessel during the valuable window period by adopting the dual mode of “power positioning system + anchoring system” to carry out the lifting and installation of the large offshore components.

As a new generation of environmental friendly, energy-saving and intelligent crane vessel, “Sanhang Xiang’an” conforms to the development trend of greening and intelligentization of offshore engineering vessels. And it is designed and applied with intelligent motor monitoring system, which can greatly improve the utilization rate of energy. Also, the crane vessel adopts the offline insulation monitoring technology, which further improves the safety factor of the whole vessel through the intelligent monitoring of the important equipments on the whole vessel.
