HARTMANN’s first 40,000m3 dual-fuel LPG/Liquid ammonia carrier started its maiden voyage

On September 14, the world’s third 40,000m3 dual-fuel LPG/Liquid Ammonia Carrier with semi-cooled and semi-pressurized three-ear tank built by Yangzi Mitsui Shipbuilding for the German shipowner HARTMANN departed from the shipyard wharf and started its maiden voyage.

The smooth delivery of this vessel marks the successful conclusion of the first batch of cooperation projects between Yangzi Mitsui Shipbuilding and HARTMANN Group.

The vessel was signed and delivered on September 11th. On the morning of September 13th, Yangzi Mitsui Shipbuilding held a grand naming ceremony for the vessel, which was named “GASCHEM AFRICA”.

According to the introduction, the 40,000 m3 MGC series is the first gas carrier contract signed between Yangzi Mitsui and HARTMANN Group. And “GASCHEM AFRICA” is the finale of the 3 vessels of this series, which was delivered 17 days earlier than the contract delivery date. The naming ceremony marks the complete success of the first gas carrier project of Yangzi Mitsui Shipbuilding.

It is reported that the cooperation between Yangzi Mitsui Shipbuilding and HARTMANN Group is progressing steadily, and the second cooperation project – three 36,000 m3 LEG carriers are under orderly construction, while the third project has entered the design stage.
