CMHI Haimen shipyard held a groundbreaking ceremony for its Zero Carbon Simulation Center

On September 11th, China Merchants Heavy Industries Haimen shipyard (CMHI Haimen shipyard) held a grand groundbreaking ceremony for its Zero Carbon Simulation Center.

Leaders from Hoegh Autoliners, CIDO, Sunstone, Det Norske Veritas, CCS Wuhan Rules & Research Institute, Wuhan University of Technology, Harbin Engineering University, Jiangsu University of Science and Technology, CM Energy and the construction companies attended the ceremony.

The zero carbon simulation center will realize the whole process simulation from fuel storage, fuel supply, zero-carbon fuel main and auxiliary engines, to the full process simulation of safety inspection and protection systems as well as simulate the environment of onboard use.

The main purpose of the simulation center is to provide the industry with a platform for displaying zero-carbon fuel-related supporting products, to promote the standardized development of zero-carbon fuels, and to promote the forensic and real-ship application of zero-carbon products.

After the ceremony, representatives of Merchants Heavy Industry (Jiangsu) , CCS, Wuhan University of Technology, and CM Energy signed a joint agreement on the construction of the Zero Carbon Simulation Center.

CMHI Haimen shipyard responds to the requirements of China and Jiangsu Province on double carbon for ships, focuses on green ship layout, and has successively carried out the design and construction of new energy ships such as DC network, battery technology, LNG fuel, methanol fuel, etc.

The establishment of the Zero Carbon Simulation Center and the signing of the four-party joint construction agreement is another important milestone in the green development strategy of China Merchants Industry.
