New Times Shipbuilding cut steel for Dynacom’s first 295,000 DWT crude oil tanker

On September 10, Jiangsu New Times Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. held a steel cutting ceremony for a 295,000 DWT very large crude oil tanker built for the Greek shipowner Dynacom.

It is understood that the Greek shipowner Dynacom has ordered four 295,000 DWT oil tankers from New Times Shipbuilding, and this is the first one in this series.

The 295,000 DWT oil tanker has an overall length of 332.95m, a beam of 60m, a depth of 29.6m, a design draught of 20.5m and a structural draught of 21.7m with a cabin capacity of 339,000cbm and a deadweight tonnage of 299,240MT.

It is equipped with a 6G80ME-C10.6-Tier III with HPSCR main engine, with a main engine power (SMCR) of 18,800KW and a continuous running power (NCR) of 15,980KW, which meets the requirements of Tier 3 for nitrogen oxide emissions.

With a design draft of 20.5 meters, main engine power of NCR, installation of PSVs and HVAFs, and leaving a 15% sea state reserve, the vessel’s speed is approximately 14.5 knots.

Dynacom is a subsidiary of the shipping company owned by George Procopiou, the king of Greek ships.

George Procopiou owns Sea Traders S.A., Dynacom Tankers Management Ltd. and Dynagas Ltd, which are operating bulk carriers, tankers and LNG carriers respectively, with a total fleet of more than 170 vessels and a total capacity of 11,630,000 DWT, to provide dry bulk, crude oil and specialized shipping services.
