Xiamen Port orders 4 new energy tugboats

On September 7, Fujian Southeast Shipyard Co., Ltd (Southeast Shipyard), a subsidiary of Fujian Shipbuilding Industry Group Corporation (Fujian Shipbuilding), signed an order for four new energy tugboats with Xiamen Port Shipping Co.Ltd (Xiamen Port), two of which are 5,000 hp new energy tugboats, and the other two are 4,400 hp new energy tugboats.

Both new energy tugboats are independently developed by Fujian Shipbuilding R&D and Design Institute. The 5000 HP new energy tug has an overall length of about 38.30 meters, a beam of 10.60 meters, a depth of 4.90 meters, with a battery capacity of about 7300kW.h.

The 4400 HP new energy tugboat has an overall length of about 37.70 meters, a beam of 10.60 meters, a depth of 4.90 meters, with a battery pack capacity of about 6300kW.h.

With a range of not less than 8 hours at a hydrostatic speed of 8 knots, it is able to meet the requirements of intelligent energy efficiency and provide auxiliary decision-making and suggestions for ship energy efficiency management.

Classified by China Classification Society (CCS), this tugboat meets the operational requirements of coastal harbor area, suitable for coastal navigation and can help container ships, bulk carriers and other ships to berth and leave port.
