On September 12, AAL HOUSTON, a 32,000DWT heavy lift vessel built in bulk by Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding under CSSC for Schoeller Holdings Group, was successfully delivered. “AAL HOUSTON will join the AAL Shipping fleet.
The 32,000DWT heavy lift vessels are HPSCR, EEDI Stage III and NOx Tier III compliant and have achieved DNV Methanol Reserved Class Notation.
Equipped with the “AAL ECO-DECK” retractable deck extension system, which increases the loading area by approximately 85% compared to the existing vessels in the fleet of the same type, helping to offset the cost of the voyage for the customer.
In August, the first vessel of the series, AAL Limassol, successfully completed its maiden voyage to Europe, which safely transported more than 89,000 tons of cargo, representing an increase of approximately 40% in cargo volume on a single voyage and setting a new record for the carrier’s volume.
With the extended deck, AAL Limassol is able to store 80.5 m long wind blades together with other cargo, giving customers a new option.
