CIMC SOE delivers two sets of stacked dual-ear tanks

Recently, Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering (CIMC SOE) has successfully shipped two sets of 7,500 cbm world’s first stacked LNG dual-ear tanks built for Zhoushan Changhong International Shipyard (Changhong International).

The LNG tanks will be installed on 11,500 TEU container ships. Due to the unique narrow and high fuel tank space of the container ship, the tanks of this project adopts stacked dual-ear design.

Compared with the traditional dual-ear tanks, this stacked dual-ear tank can maximize the use of existing space, increasing the space utilization rate by at least 40%, and reducing the loss rate of the shipowner’s box by more than 30%, which greatly improves the operating economy of the ship for the shipowner.

This successful delivery marks a new advancement for CIMC SOE in the field of IMO Type C fuel tank products and further enriches the company’s accumulated experience.
