On September 10th, under the joint witness of the shipowner company, classification society and shipyard and other related parties, Dalian COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co Ltd.(DACKS) successfully named and delivered a 64,000 DWT bulk carrier to the owner Almi Marine, which marks the perfect closing of this series of 64kBC bulk carriers for the shipowner company.
According to the official website, Almi Marine Management S.A. is a ship management company established in 1992 and has become a first-class manager/operator of modern Supramax/Ultramax dry bulk ships. At present, the company has under management a fleet of 7 vessels with total deadweight capacity of 414,012 MT and one DACKS 64K Ultramax Newbuildings for delivery in September 2024.
With a length of 199.9m, a breadth of 32.24m and a design speed of 15.6 knots, this bulk carrier is a further optimized by DACKS base on the previous vessels, and is the first bulk carrier designed and built by DACKS to meet the requirements of the Phase III of the EEDI Phase III.
The General Manager of DACKS said that the first two bulk carriers in this series have been successfully delivered and have emerged in the current shipping market, creating great wealth for Almi Marine and earning DACKS a good reputation.
Mr. Christos Hadjigeorgiou, Managing Director of ship owner company, said he expects DACKS to develop and utilize more advanced technologies in the future in order to contribute to the solution of shipping decarbonization issue. The two parties can explore and build vessels that can achieve low- or zero-carbon target fuels.
